Meet Terri Weems
Terri is currently, well beyond the retirement age for the third time. She has always been inquisitive about sisterly relationships and experiences. Terri began to write about these relationships and experiences because she was not privileged to have a biological sister. Her writing was stalled by a sisterly incident. Shortly after, Terri received an invite from her friend and sorority sister, Dr. Tererai Trent to contribute a story to her Anthology. Yes, this first-time writer became an Author. Her story, Becoming A Sister Friend, is just an appetizer for her book, I Am Your Sister.

Meet Terri Weems & Tererai Trent
Dr. Tererai Trent became an Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in 2013. I met Dr. Trent at the Kalamazoo, Michigan Chapter’s Meet & Greet. We immediately connected. I attended one of her Illinois book signings – Awaken Woman and the Gala prior to the unavailing of her statue in New York. The reactions of surprise and gratefulness for my attendance from Tererai were priceless.
In 2021, Tererai graciously accepted a Zoom invite to help me sort through my questions about my book, I Am Your Sister. Shortly after that meeting, I was invited to be one of 36 writers to write a chapter in her Sacred Promise Anthology entitled Becoming A Sister Friend.
Honored to become published as a first-time writer. The Sacred Promise Anthology ignited my energy to complete my initial book, I Am Your Sister.
